Religious writings of several world religions indicate the existence of “homosexuality” even in the BCs.

Why it is so prevalent and “open” now? Answer is in the recent changes in social rules.

For example take all the 8 items listed below and ask yourself: Why should children wait until 18 years to have sex of homosexual activities? Why do they have to reject the advances of adults? Many children consider themselves as adults and Society encourage children to act adults during the teenage years

(1)Government and major corporations accepted homosexual relationships by giving benefits to partners
(2)State Governments are accepting homosexual marriages as equal to conventional marriages
(3)Publically Gays and lesbian organizations demonstrate in the street for “openness”
(4)Courts accept “homosexuality” is normal
(5)Teenage pregnancy is not vehemently opposed by the society, but even it is encouraged by the actions of the society by distribution of condoms, open discussion in the class room, parents’ negligence on boys’ responsibility to teenage pregnancy. Etc.
(6)Our lack of understanding on the early maturity of children believing the artificial 18 years is the right yard stick. Children could marry much lower age than 18 years in many countries, olden times it was common even in this country.
(7)Now many Children do mature during the early teenage years. If they mature early why not have the same rights of adults?
(8)Teenagers drink, smoke, take drugs, drive and having sex. They are all accepted by the society

RESULT?

TEENAGERS AND CHILDREN WATCH THE SOCIAL CHANGES AND ACCEPT HOMOSEXALITY AS ALSO NORMAL. Children always want to be grownups because they believe they deserve all rights of the adults. As a result, they will not oppose an adult’s approach to them for sex. “It is normal, Why not?” That is their question!
In their mind “homo sexuality is normal, adults could do it, I am mature, then why not I could do the same”

Now when a child abuse happen “openly”, all newspapers jump in and blame the adult for the act, which is right to do so, but also blame “all the people those who know him”.
That is the case with Joe Pa at Penn State. Even Trustees jump into the bandwagon.
Let the court decide the case. Moral issues? Are you kidding? Those who talk about others’ moral issues should also open their own historical library!. Joe PA is not responsible for keeping everyone in the “moral football court”. Can we keep all our friends in a moral world?
Did we blame Pope for the abuses of the children by church few church officials, even could dismiss them? Did we ask Pope to leave office? No. Joe Pa could not fire an assistant Coach. He could report the act and he did!

HIPOCRACY OF AMERICA & OLD COLONIALISTS

Over the last 300 years, Europe exploited rest of the world for raw materials and man power to live like Kings of the World. 1947 onwards, the Empires started burning down. Europe’s economy started going down and down and many European countries became one of the so-called third world nations and at the same time new economic powers mushrooming around the globe: China, India, Brazil, South America and many smaller countries Singapore, Thailand.
Now Oil–rich Muslim Middle East countries are showing internal conflict. In the name of democracy, US-led western nations started interfering in the internal affairs of these countries. Is it starting of a new economic colonialism even though that is not in the American calendar. The hypocrisy of these interventions needs to be examined.
Take for example, United Nations Security council voted to interfere in Libya without the approval of countries representing 60% of the population. Security Council was persuaded by UK, France and USA.

Let us compare Libya’s “freedom fighters” and actions taken by UN+France+UK+USA together to other similar agitations of the world for the last 10 years
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Countries // Action taken by UN+USA // Reason for “no action”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) China suppresses Tibet & Muslim people: // None // Rich, Big Nuclear
(2) North Korea // None // Nuclear
(3) India (Kashmir) // None // Rich, Big, Nuclear
(4) Russia (Chechnya) // None // Rich, Big, Nuclear
(5) Israel (Palestine) // None // Friend, Jewish
(6) Iran //None //Big Oil, Nuclear (?)
(7) Saudi. United Nations Security Council should explain the differences of these countries with that of Libya.

Each country should have the right to decide what political system that they want, rather than white western world tell them what they can have. That is new type of colonialism supported by United Nations Security Council.

IS UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL DEMOCRATIC?

IS UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL DEMOCRATIC?

Let us Examine based on most recent Voting and Decision to Bomb Libya.
Definition of Democracy: “Rule of the Majority”.

United Nations Security Council of 15 nations represents the world population. Obama said regarding the Libyan bombing vote: It was ‘almost unanimous”. There is no “almost unanimous”, either unanimous or not. Brazil, China, Germany, India and Russia did not vote. That constitutes over 60% of the population.
Obama should not know “what democracy is?" He is supporting democratically elected Senators from Wisconsin to stay away in Illinois and encouraged their non-democratic actions. We preach democracy, but we do not practice actual democracy in our Nation. US Senate do not represent US population. We are republic, not democratic republic.
There is a difference.

So UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL is not democratic even though they passed a resolution to intend to create democracy in Libya...

AMERICAN PRESIDENTS SHOULD STUDY MODERN WORLD HISTORY BEFORE STARTING WAR.

AMERICAN PRESIDENTS SHOULD STUDY MODERN WORLD HISTORY BEFORE STARTING WAR.

This is nothing to do with Obama alone, but to all recent Presidents including Bush II. Before getting into the Oval Office , they should know the Modern World History, not just knowing Medieval History on how to spread Christianity into the world or spreading of Islam during 6th to 12 Century. The methods used to spread christanity and Islam does not work in the modern world, probably the methods used by Buddhism should work well, that is let the people decide.

NOW: As I said earlier in an article that Islam is not ready for democracy, don’t try to impose on them, like the methods used to convert people to Christianity and Islam. The fate of democracy is clearly visible throughout Islamic world, it does not work. Pakistan tried several times, and failed. Russians tried to change the Islamic way of life in Afghanistan, but failed, of course with our help with money and weapons. We tried in Afghanistan and still trying. Now we are spending Billions of borrowed dollars in Iraq, Afghanistan, now in Libya. Why? Are we still trying to spread Democracy like we did spreading Christianity? World Changed. Accept reality of the world and our bad economic position in the world.

Democracy is not for all people, you cannot impose on them. When and if people are ready, they will accept without the preaching of the Clinton or Obama. Religions do play an important role. Look over the Modern History. !947. Indian sub continent divided into two, based on religion. Same people lived together for thousands of years with the same conditions except their religious believes: Hinduism and Islam. When they divided based on religion, one became democratic and other became autocratic even though leaders of both groups wanted democracy.

Clinton or Obama or Bush cannot impose democracy like medieval methods used to convert people to Christianity or to Islam. Stop trying.

DEMOCRACY OUSIDE & NON-DEMOCRATIC ACTIVITIES INSIDE?

DEMOCRACY OUSIDE & NON-DEMOCRATIC ACTIVITIES INSIDE?

President and Secretary of state are trying to export “democracy” across the Arab world by encouraging “freedom agitations”. The “correctness” or “interfering the internal affairs” of other countries is not the topic of this comment.

When we support “democracy” outside of our country, we should not support non-democratic activities within the country. That is exactly the President is doing when the President opposes democratic process in Wisconsin. He is not asking his party Senators to act as Senators rather than encouraging them to move to Illinois, so that Wisconsin Police cannot “arrest” them and bring back to the Senate Chamber.

We have only one President at a time, and he should act as President rather than AFL-CIO Cheer Leader and indirectly, at least encourage non-democratic activities of the elected state officials.

Revolution in Arab World & American Contribution to it

In summary, the events follow the statements of American Leaders!

Mr. Kerry, the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who has also talked to Arab leaders, said the crisis in Egypt had caused American allies to question “what sort of longevity there is to the notion of alliances.” But, he added, “they have to understand: this is not us making some kind of decision; this is the people of Egypt making a decision.” 100,000 People making decisions for 80 million people of Egypt! Is that democractic pathway?
Kerry is wrong!!

See Secretary Clinton’s statement, one month before the agitation she warned about the need for reform in the Arab world in Qatar last month, she said, “I could not have been clearer about our concerns for all of these governments.” Are we in control of the World? That is our problem. We interfere in internal mattersf the other SMALL nations. Did we do anything during the Chinese agitation for democracy. NO! They are big and will not give any attention to our President or Secretary of State. We are still barking at Chinese for Democracy.

One Arab diplomat correctly stated the composition of agitators are students and the so-called democratic value protectors and what will happen at the end: “Eventually, those students will have to get off that train and go back to school, and the human rights people will have to go back to work, and you know who will be on the train when it finally rolls into the station?” the diplomat asked. “The Muslim Brotherhood”. Did he forget Secretary Clinton, President Obama and Biden?

Fact of the matter is Islamic world is not ready for democracy. For sixty three years Pakistan tried several times and miserably failed. Even today, actual democracy in Pakistan is questionable. Turkey is the only Muslim country practices democracy, only because it’s economic tie-up and social relationship with Western Europe.

One benefit of all these is the following. President Obama wants to see the oil price increase, so that he could “invest” borrowed Chinese money in clean energy and make most or all Americans poor and our children could become under the thump of communist economic system. It may not be his intention or esign but that will be the result.

Every President should have life experiences and foreign policy experiences before becoming the President of a Country. Simple answer is “NO”. Around 40,000 people are killed in motor accidents every year, even though it is possible to avoid many of these accidents. No activists are making any uproar on road accidents, which is man made and easily avoidable by speed control, keeping the car in mechanically good condition, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and drug, avoid driving under bad road conditions etc.
Then why these big uproars on industrial accidents? Because, activists and most public hate big corporations, politicians take advantages of public feeling by flammable statements.
Let us start the Bhopal Chemical Accident. It did happen. Indian Government agreed to accept the total civil penalty of ~470 million dollars. If the Government thought, that the amount was low, why they agreed at that time? Of course, it was different Government. Two weeks ago, Indian Criminal Court gave a verdict and send managers into jail for criminal negligence. New Government supports the statement of activists and considering further actions. If the Government believes further actions they should simply appeal the case to Supreme Court. There is no reason to create “political hay” to satisfy the uproar of the activists. What is the reason further investigations on the Government official and the CEO Anderson? In my view, it is to satisfy political parties and activists. It was an accident with a loss of over 30,000 people. It was a tragedy happened 25 years ago. We should move on.

Now look at the Oil leak at Gulf. Getting oil from under 5000 feet below the water level is not an old technology. There are no guidelines and set rules and procedures to get this deep-water oil. Obama administration approved the drilling and the blue print of procedures. Explosion caused the leak and not made by any body’s mistake. Of course, now someone could say drilling procedure was wrong. Probably they are right. But at that time, no one disagreed, except activists were against drilling anywhere, Alaska slopes, Off-shore closed to any US land mass. But economy needs fuel. We shouldn’t expect drilling backyards of other countries and satisfy our oil needs.

No industry creates accidents knowingly and destroys their own business. Activists should understand this. Obama should understand this. President could talk, conduct national press conferences and that will not bring oil from under water. Talking is cheap which politicians do all the time. Technology development needs brain power. You need know-how. Corporations have that. They will do the best what they could to produce products safely. We need oil to reduce unemployment. Destroying major corporations is not a way to progress.

ARE THE STOCK BROKERS CHEATING THE PUBLIC?

I am not an economist, but I lived in this world long enough to understand some economic principles.

Wall street and stock brokers treat public stupid and public has no way to respond.
Even US Government and its legislative wing are impotent to react to the misuse of public wealth using stock market manipulation. There never going to be good economic news around the glove all the times. Always there is some little bad news somewhere in the world. Stock brokers use that bad news to make money by selling the stock through the manipulation of the public. “Broker will make money both buying and selling the stocks” which they could do it in milliseconds unlike old times. Economists go along with, without exposing these manipulations and Government will not make any law against this.

Example: Greek economy recently showed problems. Suddenly global stock market went down up to 3-5% within a day and next day same market came back to certain extend. Greek population is only 0.16% of the world population. Irrespective of the size of this market, country depends on very small fraction of consuming public. Same happened today in Asian Market when Hungry showed economic troubles. Hungry has a population of 0.15%

What it tells me this: Mutual funds and other institutional investors using public money to buy and sell stocks simply to make money for themselves. US Congress will not make laws against this stock market manipulation in the name of free market economy irrespective of overall general public getting poor. At the same time few people are getting richer and richer and members of congress getting campaign contributions.

I always respected the liberal views and consistency eventhough I diagreed with them. Economically poor should get some assistance from the Society through their Government. In this society we provide, food stamps, welfare, and help in housing for needy as judged by standard set-up by the Government. Even in healthcare we provide “charity-care” those who cannot afford. Hospitals will not decline the Emergency Care.

Government does not have the right or means to provide equal food, clothing, housing or healthcare for every citizen. Obama administration is trying to provide EQUAL HEALTHCARE for everyone by taxing others. In other words Government wants to give “EQUAL HEALTH CARE” for everyone as the fundamental right mentioned in the
Constitution. If and when the Society decides to do that, they must change the constitution first and declare USA is a SOCIALIST STATE.

Healthcare is not a fundamental right like other needs of living in a free society. Administration must know that along with supporters of the HealthCare bill.

"PRESIDENT"S COPENHAGEN AGREEMENT ON CLIMATE CHANGE"

President Obama's one of the "greatest achievement" during the first year in office was to get an agreement on climate change in Copenhagen. Now a clarification from UNFCCC is on record, shows that there was no agreement at all. There was a last minute political statement to save the face. That is all.

"Seeking to put at rest doubts over the status of the Copenhagen Accord agreed upon at the 15th meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP) in the Danish capital last year, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has issued a clarification saying that the agreement was not a legally binding document but merely a political one.

In a notification addressed to the Parties, Yvo de Boer, executive secretary of the UNFCCC, said that since the COP neither adopted nor endorsed the Accord, but merely took note of it, its provisions do not have any legal standing with the UNFCCC process even if some Parties decide to associate themselves with it. Secondly, since the Accord is a political agreement, rather than a treaty instrument subject to signature, a note verbale to the secretariat from an appropriate authority in the government concerned was sufficient to communicate the intention of a party to associate itself with the accord.

The clarification has been issued following numerous enquiries received by the UNFCCC secretariat over the wordings of the notification issued on January 18 asking the parties to convey their intention on whether or not to associate themselves with the accord by January 31, which read as: “In light of the legal character of the accord…” in the second paragraph. The secretariat also received queries whether they could physically sign the accord in order to signify their association and support. The phrase “In light of the legal character of the accord ...” should be read in its context, the clarification said.

Coincidentally, the notification comes a day after the second ministerial level meeting of the BASIC (Brazil, South Africa, India and China) group of countries reiterated that the Copenhagen Accord was a political document and not legally binding on the parties that would associate themselves with it". They do spend money to do this. Corporation A has the freedom to do this in the name of "free speech" under the constitution. Now consider Corporation B. They make toys and distribute/sell to public. They should have the same freedom as corporation A to express their views to the voters. But they don't have direct media outlet. So they spend money to get that media outlet. In the name of First amendment of the constitution, both corporations A & B are doing the same: Express their views to the public, like every entity of the Union does. So SC is correct in interpreting the "Freedom of Speech right" and spending money to express their views.

WHAT VOTERS WANT?

WHAT VOTERS WANT?

Press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters. (1) "That anger is now pointed at us because we're in charge, rightly so,” (2) "I don't believe the president thinks that we should stop fighting for what's important to the middle class". First part is correct. Ruling party must be responsible for the country's economic mess. Second part is right and wrong. What is right is President should fight for the needs of middle class and others. What is wrong with Secretary's statement? Polls and three major election (VA, NJ & MA) results say that voters don't want President's agenda. They want a slowdown on health care bill; environmental bill(s) Immigration bills etc. They want economic growth first and foremost. When Gibbs says President knows what middle class want which is wrong. President doesn't know. Is Gibbs think President is God and he could read voters minds? He uses the bank tax to convince the voters that banks made the economic mess. Speech may influence voters but how many?

ECNOMICS:
(1) Tax payers put over 700 Billion into economic recovery plan. The bulk went into financial institutions and car makers.
(2) Most banks paid back most of the money and in the process of paying back the rest.
(3) Obama’s proposal is to collect 90 billion for 10 years from banks. i.e. only 9 billion this year.
(4) Banks are planning to give 160 billion of so for bonuses in this year which is 10 billion lower than 2007.
(5) As we know 50% of 160 billion goes to State and Federal taxes. ie. ~60-70 Billion goes to Federal Treasury.
(6) Obama proposed new tax is 10 billion.
If there is no new tax on this 10 billion, still Government may get 4 billion in normal tax. So additional collection is only 6 billion. That is not much compared to total tax collection.
(7) If Government collects additional tax, Banks will charge that amount or more from the public through additional fees and service charges.

So the whole game is to transfer the money from the public including the unemployed to the Government using bank as an intermediary.

POLITICS & ECONOMICS
Do Massachusetts voters fall for it along with public overall? Dr Wolfgang Knorr at the University of Bristol, UK, found that in fact the trend in the airborne fraction since 1850 has only been 0.7 ± 1.4% per decade, which is essentially zero.
The strength of the new study, published online in Geophysical Research Letters, is that it rests solely on measurements and statistical data, including historical records extracted from Antarctic ice, and does not rely on computations with complex climate models.
This work is extremely important for climate change policy, because emission targets to be negotiated at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen early next month have been based on projections that have a carbon free sink of already factored in. Some researchers have cautioned against this approach, pointing at evidence that suggests the sink has already started to decrease.
So is this good news for climate negotiations in Copenhagen? "Not necessarily", says Knorr. "Like all studies of this kind, there are uncertainties in the data, so rather than relying on Nature to provide a free service, soaking up our waste carbon, we need to ascertain why the proportion being absorbed has not changed".
Another result of the study is that emissions from deforestation might have been overestimated by between 18 and 75 per cent. This would agree with results published last week in Nature Geoscience by a team led by Guido van der Werf from VU University Amsterdam. They re-visited deforestation data and concluded that emissions have been overestimated by at least a factor of two” The Hindu, 11/11/2009

INEQUITIES GLOBAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

INEQUITIES GLOBAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Several Governments, including ours, public and private institutions, foundations such as Gates and Melinda, academic scholars and the so-called experts talk about the inequities of the US health care system. US government and congress want to eliminate these health care inequities by inequitable taxing. Re-placing one inequity with another is not a fare solution. Some universities and their funding patrons putting forward statistics to show inequities in the health care system. Don’t we have inequity in other areas of social needs such as food distribution and consumption, housing, education etc.? Are we going to equalize the university educational costs, forcing everybody to live in same kind of housing, drive same kind of car, and consume same kind of food of same cost? Hope not. What are the options? There are few and simple. (Painting the roof of my house is not an option). Are we willing to accept a quantum change in our normal social life?

Major environmental problem for the earth, is population. Increase of population increases consumption which increases reduction in the open land area, lower the area of vegetation, increase in autos and energy consumption, increase the number of cows to meet the needs of the meat and meat products for the population (cattle produces the highest amount of methane), increased solid human wastes of various forms and so on and so on.

There are ways we could reduce the growth of population, if religious conservatives agree to it: (1) not to have more than 1 child per family (2) stay away from sex or accept abortion (3) encourage homosexuality. Suicide

Physical & Mental Pain Vs. Suicide

In every religion and culture, there are many ways to characterize and punish the suicide action taken by the people suffering from pain. Many religious writings, not all, suggest that suicide is a cowardice act, it is a crime against humanity and there should be laws against it, and to the extreme suggestion that it is against the path towards heaven.

Pain, either physical or mental could be curable by giving proper medication but not always. If a person has the ability to see all sides of the issue and finally decide that death is the only path that he could take to remove the pain, why not allow him or her to make that move. Why religion or law stands in the way? Law allows women, to control her body in case of abortion. Many segments of religion do not oppose abortion. Mental pain is difficult to analyze and treat. Person suffering with mental pain looks and acts normal in most of the time. Society may or may not notice the sufferings or really care. The victim of pain, particularly mental, is the only soul who understands the actual depth of the pain; no quantitative steps are available that others could measure.

Suicide is not a cowardice act. Person who decides suicide is a mentally strong, physically able, culturally with deep convictions, morally idealistic with great analytical mind and ability to reach a final conclusion after looking at every angle of his/her act. Why then religion and society picture him as a weak and immoral person?

Humans are mortal without a known amount of time to live. Living without happiness and with mental pain is much worse than death. Society should applaud; but never encourage suicide, if the person is normal. It is difficult to predict who is normal and who is not. Then what is normal? Normal and acceptable behavior are variable to society to society, time to time and place to place.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://manixthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/06/physical-mental-pain-vs-suicide.html' title='Physical & Mental Pain Vs. Then we gave weapons and indirectly encouraged their poppy growth. Our intention was to beat Russians without understanding the history and geography of Afghanistan. The rebels that we supported turned out to be Taliban and their supporters. They destroyed the twin towers and killed more than 2300 people. All these things happened because our lack of knowledge on the history of Afghanistan. Now we end up with a war and spending billions of dollars a year in the name of developing a modern democracy Afghanistan. Democracy is a good catch word. It may or may not be good for every country.

Now we are in a brink of major disaster in Pakistan. Even though we got support from the Pakistan military government during the critical period, we undermined the military rule and encouraged a democratic government without understanding the history of Pakistan. As before, the democratically elected Government of Pakistan failed in every category, economic growth, security, terrorism control and relationship with India and Afghanistan. We supported this Government by promising billions and billions of dollars for nothing to show for it. They opened the door to Taliban. Taliban started taking over the country by piece by piece. Historically military rule was the best option for Pakistan. Politicians should take a World History course #101 before becoming an elected official so that they could make a reasonable contribution in formulating our foreign policy. Our politicians do not understand that one should use different “yardsticks” at different time and different places.

These two modern cases tell us that we are not the guardians or we have the power to spread successful world democracy. Each country should allow developing its own form of Government. We support individual freedom. Why not we support individual country’s freedom to select their form government?

Now what is our plan? A nuclear powered Pakistan may control by Taliban.

SPEND! SPEND!! & TAX! TAX!!

President asks public to spend more. Congress does the same. Also Government spend more than what it takes. The overall policy was and is: “SPEND!SPEND! SPEND”. This must be changed for the long term growth of the economy. US must be in the forefront of the economic growth of the world. Instead, US was and is pulling the world to economic meltdown by their policy of “SPEND! SPEND!!SPEND!!!”.

First of all, congress must change their policy of “TAX-TAX & SPEND-SPEND”. It cannot do until we alter our Government system. Congress is elected and controlled by “non tax-paying voters”. Approximately 50% of the voters do not pay any Federal tax. Without paying tax to the federal system, they get money back from the federal government approved by the congress. These congress members are voted every two years by the same “non-tax paying” voters. This system of government must be changed.

Over two hundred years ago, in Boston Party people expressed vehemently saying “no taxation without representation”. Now is the time to brink back the principle in the reverse order which is: NO REPRESENTATION WITHOUT TAXATION”. Only the people pay towards the Federal Government expenditure should be allowed to elect the members of the congress and the President. Then only congress will develop a sustainable economic policy for long-term growth of the nation and the world.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://manixthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/spend-spend-tax-tax.html' title='SPEND! It was supported by rich people. 77-80 % of the tax is collected from 10% of the taxpayers. 50% do not pay the tax. This 50 % are getting more benefits from the Government without contributing than the tax paying public. Under these circumstances the tax paying public (Rich people according to speaker) will question the Government and its spending.

Solution is that "everyone must pay towards the cost of running the democratic Government. Otherwise they shouldn’t have the voting right. In Boston party we asked for representation in Government for paying taxes. Here we are asking non-representation of people those who are not paying taxes". Don't bring President Osama’s logic that "everyone is paying taxes (either FICA tax, State tax, or sales tax)". Most of the human diseases have some form of treatment even though many of them get treated only the symptoms. If we add the OTC drugs, the cost will be many folds.

In most cases, due to economic reasons, drug companies are not willing to develop drugs to cure the disease, but to control the disease. This is very clear most of the dermatological treatments. I am not going to argue for or against the approach of the companies in developing drugs. But the overall cost of treating chronic diseases by treating the symptoms alone is higher than developing drugs to treat the disease itself not the symptoms. Many drug scientists are willing work towards that goal. But government interference, in terms patent rights, indirect price control, monopoly restrictions prohibit such developments because they are not economical. Example, if a drug company could develop a drug for hypertension, a chronic condition affected more than 70-80 million people in this country alone could save billions of dollars, if we calculate the total cost of the treatment during the lifetime. This is the place Government should devote funding and manpower resources. Computerization of health records and reducing the payments to the providers are not the solution. It may help to reduce the costs in the short term but result in many unacceptable long term side effects such as loss of patient privacy and reduction in number of future providers.

Government should concentrate long term health needs of citizens by concentrating in research and disease control rather than day-to-day healthcare which should be a personal responsibility. Global history of nationalized healthcare teaches that quality healthcare do not come by socialized medicine.

NEW ADMINISTRATION

I was not an Obama supporter during the election or after the election.
Obama started to fill the cabinet positions, I started to support him and his cabinet choices giving him a “window of acceptance” hoping that election speeches are just speeches. But Presidential actions of Wednesday and Thursday made me to believe that he is moving in the wrong track.
Global Islamist terrorism is not decreasing but accelerating in a record level, even though we are safe up to this time. Mumbi (India) attack is an example for "new attack methods and rules" of terrorism.
There is a proverb that states that “you do not preach to the charging lion but you defend with deadly force”. If Obama’s inexperienced mind believes that “talking to terrorists” will eliminate terrorism, he is wrong and inexperienced. After the World War II, Presidents after Presidents tie Pakistan and India together and policies were developed to support Pakistan particularly in Kashmir issue. This was necessary during the cold war period to contain and encircle USSR with SEATO, and CENTO military alliances. Also it was an essential part of the foreign policy during USSR occupation of Afghanistan. All these times, US appeasement of Pakistan in the UN actions particularly regarding the Kashmir policy made India to suspect the attitude of the oldest democracy towards the largest democracy in the world. President Nixon’s policy of sending aircraft carrier Enterprise to Bay of Bengal during the Indo-Pakistan war, President Johnson’s comment amount Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Indian economic conditions, Kennedy’s decision to cancel the agreement to built Borako Steel plant, lack of support given to India’s development during 70s and 80s were few examples that Indians referred as US negligence of Indian people and democracy. USSR was the only country stayed with India in good and bad times and supporting India in the UN and helping India in economic and military fronts. Even then the percentage of Indian public support to US system of Government is the highest outside European countries all these years. India’s position on developing democracy around the world and opposition to the colonialism made India an important leader in the non-alignment movement. Still US was not willing or able to recognize, India as a power in Asia
The growth of India, in the area of science, education, economy, social development and military, during the last fifteen years created a new India, envoy of the rest of democratic world. President Clinton recognized the India’s growth and partially changed the policy towards India. President Bush accepted India as an equal partner and developed a new policy towards India, un-tying the so-called “hyphenated India-Pakistan Policy”.
Today India is an economic power with more than 500 million middle class, more than the population of North America or Western Europe. India’s military is one of the strongest and biggest in the world. India’s growth towards education, social justice and scientific research is equal to any other democratic country. Without India’s participation, no major agreements could be put it together in the area of any global policies. Pakistan moved down many notches or did not move forward.
History shows that appeasement of Pakistan by taking any decision against India may not work in the new world. Senator Obama proposed a killer amendment to US-India nuclear agreement when President Bush opposed similar nuclear deal to Pakistan. The proposed hyphenated south Asian policy, Indo-Pakistan-Afghanistan policy will not work because Indian public or major political parties, the ruling congress and opposition BJP, will not support it. In the case of terrorism eradication, a global tie-up is needed. European countries may have more sleeper cells than any other country. Obama should accept terrorism in Kashmir is the same as terrorism in Mumbai, New York or London. Equating India with Pakistan is not a way to move forward. It is time to move away from hyphenated foreign policy, by developing foreign policies appropriate to the country.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Disclaimer of Liability:

Documents available from this site, manixthoughts.blogspot.com, does not assume any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information, ideas, product, or process disclosed. The outcome of this appointment is beyond New York Senator-ship. Quote: “Her questions were more informational,” he said, referring to their conversation last week. Kennedy’s comment is also positive. She said, quote: “I’ll talk to you again to let you know if I’m interested,” after getting approval from my uncle Teddy. Obama wholeheartedly supported this appointment, by making the following comment, quote: “Caroline Kennedy has become one of my dearest friends, and is just a wonderful American, a wonderful person,” Mr. Obama said, “but the last thing I want to do is get involved in New York politics.” He already supported this appointment by making this comment.

Is Obama looking for a 2012 Vice president in Ms Kennedy, in case the present selection turned out to be wrong? If US auto corporations cannot compete in the global market, they should file Chapter 11 and re-engineer the organization. Irrespective of infusion of federal dollars to airlines after 9/11, they went into bankruptcy and ultimately reorganized. At least, with high fuel prices, still they are in a survival mode. Any infusion of federal dollars only postpones the inevitability. Irrespective of the views of President-elect on economy, reorganization of US corporations are needed to reduce labor cost per unit. Otherwise ultimately, US corporations will fail. Bailing out private corporations will increase corporate corruption and finally these corporations will not survive. We never accept, that we made a mistake in voting for a wrong candidate
*****It is difficult to predict precisely the behaviour of the candidate when he /she gets elected.
******But we could predict somewhat based on their past accomplishments. Read the candidates' past accomplishments, discuss with your family and friends and vote only based on that, not based on the promise that they make in election speeches.

In 2008, we have two candidates for Presidency: Senators McCain and Obama. Irrespective of what they say in their speeches, we should read their past accomplishments and decide who is the best candidate and vote for him.
